One of a Kind: Jewelry for Every Personality

We live in a world where nearly every major magazine and newspaper features a horoscope section. Getting another perspective of our traits and the way they play into our lives is always interesting. Who isn’t amused by the sometimes uncanny accuracy or far-reaching proposals of a juicy horoscope page?

Many times, though, you don’t need a horoscope to spell out the qualities that make you special. We tell our story to the world each day simply with the way we dress and carry ourselves. Clothing and decorating the body is one of the most basic human activities – just as looking to the stars for greater meaning in relation to our innermost selves is brought on by a primal desire to define who we are.

Standing out comes not only from embracing yourself internally, but from being comfortable enough to express your own unique style. Fashion is a virtual playground in which we can create looks that cater to our feelings, and jewelry is a fabulous way to individualize any outfit!

Lisa Robin Jewelry carries a spectacular range of collections that are perfect for giving voice to any personality. Are you more reserved, preferring classic pieces to accompany your clothing? Perhaps you like to play with color and keep things fun. Not to be forgotten, artistic-minded fashionistas as well as more sophisticated dressers will all find the jewelry they’re craving at Lisa Robin.

This fun quiz can give you a better idea of what jewelry may work for your personality. Also take a look at this overview of Lisa Robin Jewelry’s Collections to find some new favorites today!

Queen of the Cut-outs

Walk into any self-respecting retail establishment today and just try not to find a piece of clothing with cut-out detailing. Cut-outs have become fashion’s latest obsession. A healthy portion of this season’s sundresses and tank tops feature this adorably playful detail. It can even be seen on jackets and sweatshirts, certifying it as a true favorite among fashionistas everywhere.

Like the skull and cross craze that blasted onto the scene a year or so ago, cut-outs are now the name of the game. Spanning the fashion spectrum from high end labels like Balenciaga and Michael Kors, to more accessible brands like White House Black Market and Nordstrom’s Mimi Chica line, cut-outs will keep you cool in more ways than one as the weather heats up!

It’s only natural that with these daring infusions, our minds wander to similarly bold accessories. And while matching the intensity of a cut-out garment with edgy add-ons produces a fresh, trendy vibe, sometimes the occasion calls for something a little more refined. That’s where Lisa Robin Jewelry comes in!

Boasting an assortment of alternately striking and feminine collections, Lisa Robin Jewelry can make your fashion vision come true, no matter what you’re dreaming up. Those looking for strong pieces to match defined clothing cut-outs should get their hands on Lisa Robin’s Tekke Collection. If you’re craving a more sophisticated statement, you’ll want to see the Cordoba or Signature collections.

Queen of the Cut-outs

Queen of the Cut-outs by lisarobinjewelry featuring gemstone pendants

This beautiful look from December’s Holiday Glam Fashion Show was a prime example of successfully mixing cut-outs with some of Lisa Robin’s finest pieces. Hosted by Cincy Chic, this festive gathering brought together the region’s best local businesses as they celebrated the season in style. Offering their unique wears to savvy fashion fans, the night was capped off with a fashion show featuring Lisa Robin Jewelry and clothing from area boutiques.

The genius behind this outfit is the juxtaposition of classically simple against flirty and fun. The cap-sleeve shift dress gets a punch of sass when you stop to appreciate the colorful threads woven into its wool construction. Paired with of-the-moment shoulder cut-outs, this dress gets the fashion seal of approval while remaining appropriate for a ladies luncheon or professional function.

Accentuating the straightforward feminine qualities of the dress is Lisa Robin’s Cordoba Pendant with Gemstone Pave’. The citrine and smoky topaz stones play well off of the warm hues of the dress’s colored threads. Worn with the Large Hoop Earrings, the pendant remains the focal point. An added feature of these earrings is that they can be worn with any of Lisa Robin’s earring enhancers or smaller pendants to create a look that is truly your own.

Rounding out this ensemble is the Small Medallion Bracelet, a gentle touch that keeps the look polished yet interesting. This is just the a glimpse of what Lisa Robin offers. With an ever-expanding array of pieces, you can style your whole wardrobe, cut-outs and all!

Tribal Tinges

The time has come for spring shoppers to scour their favorite retail haunts for the best warm weather fashions. Be it sundresses or shorts, tank tops or t-shirts, stores are teeming with the latest styles! Bright hues and infectious prints practically jump off mannequins and clothing racks as customers eagerly peruse the season’s newest garments.

With such undeniable excitement in the air, it’s impossible not to eat up all the cool things being paraded in stores, online, and in magazines right now. Spring is in full bloom, and there’s no looking back!

The first few days of gorgeous weather have given fashion lovers full rights to create the spring outfits they’ve been awaiting so long, and nothing celebrates rising temperatures quite like tribal patterns and rich colors! Something about detailed geometric shapes translates so beautifully into the carefree spring and summer months, and Lisa Robin Jewelry has the perfect line to give voice to this global aesthetic: the Tekke Collection.

Lisa Robin’s Tekke Collection is full of global-tinged styles inspired by Turkish weavings, which the Tekke tribe used for making carpets. In a range of pieces including earrings, necklaces and pendants, the Tekke Collection centers on an attractive pattern of abstracted lines and arrows. A variety of gemstones are showcased in some of these pieces as well, further enhancing their worldly allure.

The Tekke Collection was on full display at December’s Holiday Glam Fashion Show. This festive gathering, sponsored by Cincy Chic, saw Lisa Robin Jewelry take to the runway, accompanied by swoon-worthy clothing from local boutiques. In an ode to the season, area retailers gave fashionable guests a small taste of their offerings, encouraging them to support small businesses.

Tribal Tinges

Tribal Tinges by lisarobinjewelry featuring gemstone necklaces

As seen in this look from the fashion show, Lisa Robin’s Turkmen Necklace with Gemstones in amethyst, citrine, iolite takes center stage when worn with a refined black and white dress. As unique earring add-ons, a pair of Tekke Enhancers are a cool twist to the Medium Tekke Hoop Earrings. The interchangeable elements of Lisa Robin Jewelry are just another great reason to wear these truly original designs.

Completing the ensemble is the Five Gemstone Ring in citrine and amethyst. These lovely stones shine even brighter against the dress’s black and white palette. In a final perfect touch, the zig-zag colorblocking on the dress’s skirt echoes the shapes in Lisa Robin’s Tekke jewelry. We can’t think of a more fitting match between wardrobe and accessories!

As spring continues to unfold, why not try your hand at mastering the well-traveled look? Just start with a few fabulous items and see where you’re transported today!

Lisa Robin Jewelry as Finalist in Future of Design Business Incubator Contest

judges-2

Lisa Robin Jewelry was named one of three finalists in the 2013 Future of Design Business Incubator Contest. The national contest is an initiative that promotes and nurtures emerging design talent in the fine jewelry industry.

The judging panel of fine jewelry industry experts and leaders included contest organizers Andrea Hill and Cincy Edelstein and this year’s guest judges Hedda Schupak, Editor of the Centurion Newsletter, Ann Arnold of Lieberfarb and Bruce Pucciarello of Novell Studio.

Unlike most competitions for designers, this one puts the business acumen of the designers on an equal footing with design talent. Applicants have to supply information about their business plans as well as submit examples of their design work.
“The contest has the competitive entrepreneurial feel of TV’s “Shark Tank” coupled with the industry- nurturing of the fashion world’s CFDA/Vogue Fund,” says Edelstein. “We’ve mixed together our own recipe by bringing together colleagues from every facet of our business. Our judges bring expertise in entrepreneurship, manufacturing, marketing, salesmanship and technology. Our Dream Team offers hard- earned wisdom learned on the road to success. And our sponsors provide critically-important industry exposure and credibility. Altogether, this puts the equivalent of a lifetime of knowledge into the hands of a relative newcomer.”

Lisa Robin Jewelry was selected as a finalist after a rigorous entry and judging process. Entrants were required to complete a 70-question entry form that examines every aspect of their business. Six semi-finalists then were required to do a 30-minute Skype interview with the four judges in late February. From there, three finalists came to New York for a live “Shark Tank” -like presentation before the panel of judges and an audience of industry VIPs, press, and fellow designers. The event was held Tuesday during the MJSA Expo show at the Hilton New York.
Each designer was tasked with making a 10-minute final pitch to the judging panel that explained their work, inspiration, and plans for the future. Panelists and audience members, including competition “dream team” members Robert Lee Morris, Penny Preville and Lisa Jenks probed further into each designer’s vision with tough questions about manufacturing, retailers, marketing, and price points.
Co-creator Andrea Hill noted that all three finalists will receive business help in the coming months. “We have a deep commitment to the three finalists. We feel strongly that everyone who entered this contest should benefit somehow,” Hill said. “All designers receive a 5-7 page analysis and recommendations report regarding their application. We are trying to help a wide swatch of designers grow stronger businesses. ”

In addition to other prizes, the six semi-finalists win a mentoring meeting with one of the Future of Design’s Dream Team, six designers with a high profile in the industry. They are Gurhan, Erica Courtney, Todd Reed, Penny Preville, Lisa Jenks and Robert Lee Morris. The panel of judges has also offered mentoring to all three finanlists.

The Future of Design contest has, in its 2012 inaugural year boosted the careers of six American designers including the 2012 winner, Bree Richey.

Captivating Basics

What could be more chic than a feminine black dress and statement gold jewelry? Not much, as was proven at the Holiday Glam fashion show this past December. Springtime celebrations like Passover, Easter, confirmations, graduations and other special events are either upon us or are fast approaching. During this time of the year, it’s only natural that we flock to brighter colors as we look to express our fashion sense while declaring our optimism for a new season and warm weather.

Who can resist the call of beautiful pastels or daring neon hues? Not I! It should be noted, however, that a classic black dress embellished with gold jewelry is a no-fail method to wow at any function. Color can be a very tricky thing, so when you find yourself struggling to settle on a shade, don’t overlook that ever so trusty fallback: black.

Black is notoriously flattering and offers a great deal of versatility. In lace constructions like this lovely shift dress, black takes on a youthful yet sophisticated vibe. With this effortlessly put-together design, the only thing you need to worry about is picking the right jewels to compliment the dress. And with Lisa Robin Jewelry, you’ll be ready to turn heads in no time!

Captivating Basics

Captivating Basics by lisarobinjewelry featuring baroque pearl earrings

Lisa Robin’s beaming gold pieces were the perfect companions to this flirty black dress. With its sheer paneling and lace details, it’s important not to over-accessorize a frock like the one in this look. The design itself is amazingly attractive, so choosing jewelry with care is essential.

Drawing the eyes to the wearer’s wrist is Lisa Robin’s Signature Bracelet. In a nod to timeless grace, this gold vermeil bracelet bears an original pattern that is a hallmark in a number of Lisa Robin’s items. The stunning Signature Gemstone Ring accents the hand with a gorgeous citrine stone that plays up the warmth of the gold bracelet.

Rounding out the ensemble are the Small Portale with Baroque Pearl Drop Earrings. These feminine earrings pair wonderfully with the girlish flair of the lace. The adorable cap sleeves and earrings combine to present a balance of visual interest with just enough restraint.

This look, along with a flurry of other stylish outfits, were seen at the Holiday Glam fashion show. Sponsored by Cincy Chic and held this past December, this festive gathering showcased the offerings of local retailers and was punctuated by a fashion show featuring Lisa Robin Jewelry and clothing from area boutiques. The night was a sartorial success, having inspired attendees to be creative in dressing for various occasions.

As you prepare for whatever events come your way this spring, take a little time to consider your best options. Color is infectious this time of year, but if you’re not meshing well with more vibrant styles, count on black as an elegant alternative. Just make sure to complete your look with gold baubles from Lisa Robin Jewelry!

Bold in Black and White

Ahh, color. It’s one of the wonders of the human experience. Whether we’re admiring a newly blossomed patch of flowers or the array of produce at our local supermarket, color has the ability to bring joy to even the simplest parts of our lives.

Without color, our world would be severely devoid of its amazing richness. The deep tones of turquoise would no longer intrigue our senses. Bright fuchsia would cease to conjure a sense of girlish sophistication. Invigorating red-orange would lose its intense allure, and green would hold no symbolism as the most basic color of nature.

Color creates for us an unmatched realm in which we are free to revel in our innermost emotions. Dreams take flight and we are catapulted into a time and place that knows no bounds. It’s no wonder that there are people who devote their entire lives to the study of color and its effects on living beings. Color is a fascinating topic.

And as much as we will become immersed in color as spring approaches, it is also important to remember the basic hues that all other colors find their foundation in. Black and white are the two poles that all colors correspond to, the degree of which determine the lightness and darkness of all other shades. Black and white, in and of themselves, are extremely powerful colors.

Black, characterized by its innate mystery, is favored by many fashion savvy dressers due to the ease with which it can be worn. Simple yet profound, black is also slimming, which only adds to its popularity.

New York City is famously said to be inhabited by those fashion followers most infatuated with black. This phenomenon, however, can be observed in fashionable cities around the world. When it comes to black, there isn’t any item that can’t look luxurious when fabricated in this devilishly dark shade.

White has a similarly entrancing effect. Known for effortlessly creating a streamlined look, white is a wonderful way to infuse any outfit with class. One of the trendiest ways to wear this hue is by donning head-to-toe white. Though few may undertake such a sartorial challenge, when done right, the result is pure sophistication.

And though white and black are formidable color players in their own right, graphic black and white patterns are another guaranteed style victory. To keep these traditional hues from looking too safe, though, it’s imperative to sport black and white motifs with knock-out accessories. Lisa Robin Jewelry is up to the task yet again, as demonstrated in this beautiful look from a recent fashion show.

Bold in Black and White

Adding just enough interest to this ladylike shift dress is the Long Paisley Chain with Medium Medallions. The length of the chain breaks up the dress’s hounds-tooth pattern and the medallions introduce another fun pattern to the mix. This paisley theme is echoed in Lisa Robin’s Large Medallion Bracelet. The weight of the bracelet balances the sleeveless style of the dress, as do the trio of Stack Rings.

Lisa Robin’s stack rings offer endless possibilities for accessorizing your digits. With options in including patterned bands and bands with gemstones, these rings make wonderful gifts and allow fashionistas to customize their look. Completing this ensemble are the lovely Mini Portale Earrings with made more special with added gemstone drops.

This outfit was seen by fashion lovers at December’s Holiday Glam fashion show. Hosted by Cincy Chic, this festive event showcased the wears of local shops and boutiques. The night culminated in a fashion show featuring Lisa Robin Jewelry and clothing from area retailers. Lisa Robin was honored to be part of such a great event, and even more excited to show an eager audience how to style some of our best pieces!

There’s no reason for your black and white outfit to be lacking in any way when you have Lisa Robin Jewelry to jazz it up! Check out more of our gorgeous collection today and try your hand at infusing a color-neutral look with some statement pieces!

Sheer Brilliance

We all want to feel beautiful. Whether we’re bonafide fashion maniacs or more reserved in the style department, feeling good about ourselves is almost always tied, in some way, to our appearance.

The expression of oneself through our fashion choices says a great deal about who we are. It is a wondrous fact that personality can be translated through how we adorn ourselves with clothing, accessories, make-up, and even the way in which we wear our hair. How, then, can anyone not find joy in experimenting with different fashions?

On any given day, we can create an entirely new vibe simply with the way we put together our look! A girly outfit can come together with the combination of floral prints, pastel colors, lace accents and a dash of glitter. On the other end of the spectrum, a boldly vintage ensemble can be achieved by pairing a graphic t-shirt with acid-washed denim, earthy beaded bracelets and a fun scarf.

And the possibilities go on and on! There are endless ways to let your voice be heard through sartorial distinction. This week, we’re highlighting a fun trend that can be incorporated into a variety of looks. Regardless of your natural style, sheer paneling is an awesome way to play with skin exposure while keeping things sophisticated and feminine.

Take a look at this fantastic dress from the Holiday Glam Fashion Show! With a flirty silhouette and velvet construction, this festive garment hits a style home run with a sheer insert on the bodice. The sheer panel allows this fashionista to flash a little skin and showcase her confidence yet maintain a sense of restraint.

Completing the look is Lisa Robin Jewelry. Offering an ever-expanding collection of fine jewelry, Lisa Robin is perfect for any woman looking to enhance her style. From intricately patterned earrings to whimsical filigree pendants and everything in between, Lisa Robin Jewelry simply wants to help women look their best.

Lisa Robin got a chance to do just that at the Holiday Glam Fashion Show this past December. Sponsored by Cincy Chic, this event featured a variety of local shops and vendors who, in the spirit of the holiday season, put forth their best fashions for all to enjoy. The night culminated in a fashion show pairing Lisa Robin Jewelry with clothing from nearby boutiques.

This particular look from the show was a definite favorite. Lisa Robin’s dramatic Large Cordoba Pendant with Gemstone Pave’ (in citrine/smoky topaz) was a gorgeous accent to the dress’s neckline. The Cordoba Bracelet, a standout piece from the same collection, adds interest to the wrist, while the Cordoba Circle and Teardrop Earrings (in white topaz) embellish the ears and draw the eye to the wearer’s face.

Command attention effortlessly with sheer features and jewelry from Lisa Robin. With such killer style, you’ll be sure to wow at any occasion! Look through our past blogs for more style tips!

Gemstone Goddess

Looking to add some pizazz to your look? Using bright gemstone jewelry does just the trick! Whether you’re playing up an already vibrant outfit or lending interest to a more subdued ensemble, gemstones are a chic and easy way to take your look to the next level.

What could be simpler than throwing on a brilliantly colored piece of jewelry? There’s no need to fret about a tired wardrobe routine when you have gemstones on hand! Earrings, rings, necklaces, bracelets…nearly every jewelry piece can be adorned with gemstones, which means that there are tons of ways to wear these gorgeous accessories.

If you’re rocking a halter neckline, for example, highlight another area by wearing some killer earrings or a stack of lovely bracelets. Likewise, a turtleneck may not be the best companion for drop earrings, but gemstone posts would work beautifully. Worried about your long sleeves hindering the look of your bracelets? Try a statement ring instead! You’ll still get the coverage of the sleeves without sacrificing a burst of gemstone color on your hands.

These are just a few instances of how gemstone jewelry can enhance your look, but the real fun comes when you’re experimenting at home and hit upon a style that is uniquely yours. Lisa Robin Jewelry offers a beaming gemstone collection that is sure to strike a chord with any fashionista. With a range of stones, from amethyst and blue topaz to garnet and emerald (Pantone’s Color of the Year), the hue of your desire can be found at Lisa Robin.

Gemstone Goddess

This stunning look, featuring Lisa Robin’s luminous gemstones, was showcased at the Holiday Glam Fashion Show this past December. Sponsored by Cincy Chic, this event put the spotlight on local shops and vendors, as style savvy shoppers perused their finest holiday products. The night’s excitement culminated in a runway show in which clothing from area boutiques was paired with jewelry from Lisa Robin.

Seen here, a bold printed coat with a statement collar is worn atop a sparkling party dress. The Gemstone Cushion Cut Drop (in citrine) lends the perfect touch of glamor to the dress’s simple v-neck.  The coat’s open wrap silhouette also allows this pendant to peek out, so fashion fans can shine on while staying warm!

The Mini Portale Earrings are customized here with added gemstone drops in white topaz. Lisa Robin is often able to design pieces specific to your needs, so if you’re envisioning an item with the addition of a certain gemstone, chances are that something wonderful can be arranged for you! Finishing off this festive outfit is the fabulous Signature Gemstone Ring with a stunning amethyst stone.

So there you have it! A beautiful example of gemstones done right. With Lisa Robin by your side, you shouldn’t have any trouble pulling off gemstone-embellished looks. Channel your inner glamazon and rock some radiant color today!

Sweeten Your Look With Heart Jewelry!

Did your honey shower you with gifts last week? If so, did any of those items include heart-shaped jewelry? Jewelry is one of the most popular Valentine’s Day gifts, and if you were bestowed with some new baubles last Wednesday, chances are good that it was romantically-themed, possibly bearing a heart shape.

The heart, a universal symbol of love, has been integrated into countless jewelry designs, and is especially prevalent during holidays that celebrate the strong connections people have with one another. Though deemed cliché by some, receiving a heart on anything is a wonderful feeling. You can’t help but get a little sappy when you take a step back from life and realize how precious someone is to you!

Heart

A heart is the perfect way to encompass such passionate emotions. Whether you’re thinking of how supportive a spouse has been or how special friends have gotten you through the toughest of times, the heart is a symbol that seems to say it all.

If you’ve been given heart jewelry by a loved one, now is the time to wear it proudly! Hearts have been featured on every piece of jewelry from an endless list of designers. Necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings, charms, chains, anklets… You name it, hearts have adorned it!

Lisa Robin Jewelry has produced some beautiful pieces bearing the symbol of love, and they’re worth taking a closer look at. Seen in the look above is the Large Portale Heart Pendant, an arresting filigree shape featuring Lisa Robin’s Signature pattern. Available with either a garnet or lapis lazuli gemstone, this unique design lends a romantic vibe to even the simplest chains or cords. Lisa Robin offers a matching Heart Bracelet so that you can give your wrist a little lovin’ too!

Worn with the stunning heart pendant are the Mini Circle with Gemstone Drop Earrings. The gorgeous amethyst drops are feminine and regal, and pair perfectly with the rest of this ensemble. Providing even more options, these earrings come in a variety of gemstones so that you can play around with color and give your look new life in the hue of your choice!

Completing this fabulous jewelry combination is the Signature Gemstone Ring. The stunner seen here showcases an amethyst jewel and will garner compliments for years to come.

These knockout pieces were viewed by local fashion lovers at the Holiday Glam Fashion Show this past December. Sponsored by Cincy Chic, this event celebrated small businesses, who displayed their amazing wares at decked-out booths. The highlight of the night was the fashion show, for which models took the spotlight in Lisa Robin Jewelry and clothing from Cincinnati-area boutiques.

In an ode to the Valentine’s season, this captivating jewelry shines against a simple white sheath dress and open jacket. These pieces, however, could easily accessorize a range of outfits. Let love inspire your fashion sense with heart jewelry!

Unlike so many things in the fashion world, love never goes out of style. Pay tribute to the special people in your life by wearing and giving heart jewelry.
